Ceat Pune Invitational Supercross League-2014

The third edition of the Pune Invitational Supercross has transformed
into a 3 city League which promises to revolutionise the sport of Motocross and
Supercross in India, just like the way the Indian Premier League (IPL) has done
for cricket in the country..
For the first time ever in the history of motorsport the
championship will be held on a franchisee based model, according to a press
release. A total of eight teams will vie for the top honours. The Ceat Pune
Invitational League with its franchise-based model, and presence of
international riders aims to change the face of the sport which is gaining huge
popularity. A total of 40 national riders and 8 international riders will be
part of the auction pool. The auction will be held on November 2, 2014 in Pune.
The teams that are participating include SKP High Rollers,
San Racing, Aranha Racing, Team Amanora Park Town, BU Bhandari Motorsports
& Bhalla Royale. All the team owners are from Pune which is considered as
Mecca of Supercross racing in India.
Vishal Barguje the local hero from Pune, Harith Noah from
TVS Racing along with Pramod Joshua, V.S Naresh, R Natraj, Madhu are some of
the Indian riders who will participate in the event.
The concept of Pune Invitational Supercross was formed by
Vilo Events in 2012. After the first two
years the third edition will witness riders from the international circuit at
the final leg in Pune which will showcase the level of racing that is at the
international level also giving the Indian Riders a much needed exposure. The
championship will have three rounds, where the team riders will get points as
per the performance at each round. Points will be given for each of the races.
The total tally of the points will decide the winner. This format gives the
overall championship a great competitive edge.
The first round of the League will be held in Nashik at the
Kute Supercross Track on November 8 and 9, 2014 and the second in Kolhapur on
November 15 and 16, 2014 at Mohite Racing Academy.
The final round will be held in Pune from December 12 to 14
which is all set to witness a festive atmosphere with pre event activities like
exhibit area, interactive Pits, Press and Media Day, Opening Ceremony with a
Demo Freestyle Motocross Show.
To add glamour to the sport and the oomph factor to the
event the Ceat Pune Invitational Supercross League 2014 will select a model
from India to be the official Miss Supercross for the event. This Miss
Supercross will be official board girl for the event.
Eeshan Lokhande, former international rider and now Event
Director & Partner, Vilo Events said, “As a sport, Supercross is gaining in
popularity in India, support and facilities to the riders have started coming
up at various locations. It’s time to give the riders and spectators along with
the sponsor a better platform for racing. Good tracks, facilities, vide range
of branding for sponsors and last but not the least a lot of respect to the
riders. Ceat Pune Invitational Supercross League promises to do the same. The
sport has given us a lot, and now it’s time to give back to the sport. As an
event we have come a long way from its inception back in 2012. The aim is to
get Supercross and Motocross into the mainstream of Indian Sports culture.”

grip and extreme robustness due to nature of the sport. “Thus, this platform
allows our R&D team to understand the qualities of the tyres, used in
Supercross event and transmit these qualities in our products aimed towards the
mass segment,

under the guidance of the Indian and International Federation rules and regulations,”
